Canillas de Aceituno is a lovely little town nestled in the Axarquia mountain range in near the coast of southern Spain. Malaga Airport and the vibrant city of Malaga are one hour away. The town itself has several bars and restaurants offering everything from simple tapas to local specialties at extremely affordable prices. There are also several beautiful hiking trails, such as up to La Maroma mountain peak, or the El Saltillo trail ending at a canyon with several waterfalls. The beach at the town of Torre del Mar is a 30-minute drive away, or can be accessed via the bus leaving the village twice daily.
The house is located just off the main plaza and just a few feet away from a fountain delivering fresh drinking water from the mountain spring. The house itself is on four levels (so not suitable for people with problems climbing stairs). The front patio, living room and small kitchen are on the ground floor, bedroom 1 and the bathroom are on the 1st floor, bedroom 2 is on the 2nd floor, and the roof terrace and the washing machine are on the 3rd floor (no dryer, clothesline on terrace). The terrace offers spectacular view across the village to the surrounding mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. The ski slopes of Granada are 2 hours away.
