There are three individual habitable buildings each with one bedroom and one bathroom, the Finca House (110m2), the Bungalow (80m2) and the Shepherd’s Hut (15m2), located within the 5-hectare terrain of the Finca and there is also a ruin (20m2).
The Finca House consists of 3 storeys, ground floor, first floor and basement – a total of 110m2. Enter under a leafy grapevine covered porch into the lounge where a wood burning stove with solid oak mantel surround and a rustic tiled flooring gives the authentic feel and look of a farmhouse. The solid pine table divides the area into a kitchen diner. The first floor consists of an ample sized bedroom with a built-in wardrobe and a tiled ensuite bathroom. The basement (currently housing a utility room and bathroom) is entered from the lower terrace under the mandarin tree, with a shady pergola of wisteria covering the barbeque terraced area and an Argentine style grill. The basement runs the full length of the original house and can easily be reformed. There is also a hayloft lean-to building with a corrugated iron roof on the south side, originally used as a stable and tack room.
Within the grounds of the original house there are several fruit-bearing trees, an apricot tree, many almond and olive trees, a walnut tree and an orchard of orange, mandarin and lemon trees leading off from the bottom of the paddock.
A two-minute walk across a terraced path passing by a concrete built alberca (a Spanish water tank) takes you to the “Shepherds Hut”, a rustic building lovingly restored in lime and mud render over the original stonework. The building consists of a twin-bedded room with wood burning stove, a bathroom and an outside stone tiled terrace or “outside kitchen” area.
The third building, the Bungalow, is a charming house with a mezzanine floor bedroom, nestled within its mature lush green gardens. The house is tastefully built in keeping with the finca style using traditional chestnut log beams, terracotta tile and pine flooring. At the entrance to the house is a large open terracotta tiled covered terrace facing West with incredible views over tree-covered ridges to the mountain backdrop of the Genal Valley. The house consists of a large open plan lounge with wood burning stove and a large fitted kitchen. A few stairs up take you to a large double bedroom area with pine flooring and a separate bathroom with a walk-in shower.
The finca´s electricity supply is run by a solar powered system and back-up generator and there is a natural spring which feeds two 18,000 litre storage tanks. Licences and paperwork are in order.
